Reduce Your Air Conditioning Costs

Whether you are making the conscious decision to go green for the good of mother Earth or to just keep a little extra green in your pocket, cutting down on the use of electricity in your household is always a progressive idea. Living in Florida, our biggest energy saver that we all notice and welcome with open windows, is the weather change. We aren't blessed with the ability to keep our windows open all year round and stay comfortable in our homes, but we are quickly approaching cooler weather that allows us to do so for a period of time. Living in Florida all my life, I know how wonderful it is to receive the first month's bill without running the air conditioning and seeing that it cuts yo...

Sarasota Market Shows Signs of Economic Recovery

Looking at the Sarasota MLS stats for September 2013 and 2012, as posted by SARS, it's great to see the numbers still climbing.

Sarasota - Top Place in the U.S. to Visit Right Now!

The other day I was reading a post in BuzzFeed where Sarasota was named #1 in the "10 Places In the U.S. You'll Want to Visit Right Now." They mentioned the diverse art scene and wide range of activities; and we beat out popular hot spots, such as San Diego, West Palm Beach, Austin, Anchorage and Martha's Vineyard, to name just a few.

For me, this was a no brainer - I love the weather, the beaches are gorgeous, and I can do outdoor activities everyday. Here is a photo recently posted to Facebook - it was taken on an evening kayak on the East Bayou. How many people can do this where they live!

Busy & Steady in Sarasota

August Stats Falling In Line

Sarasota Association of Realtors has come to the decision with 5 other Realtor Associations in the area that the way they have previously recorded their monthly statistics was not an accurate representation of the areas sales. Now, statistics will be recorded on the area and county, instead of recording by members’ association representation. These statistics are going to be a slightly different representation of previous versions recorded and will no longer represent SAR-member sales exclusively. They will now accurately represent all sales activity and transactions taking place in Sarasota County.

Taking a look exclusively at Sarasota County sales transacti...

Sarasota’s Benderson Park to Host 2017 World Rowing Championships

Nathan Benderson Park is located in Sarasota, Florida. It is slated to become North America’s premier 2,000-meter sprint course and regatta center by 2014. Over $40 million has been committed to the facility’s future development, including 2,200 meter racing lanes and straight shorelines by 2013, coaching lanes, wave attenuation, a multi-function boathouse and athlete training center, starting huts and finish towers, grand stands and a state-of-the-art boat maintenance and testing facility. Most of these facilities will be constructed on a first of its kind “regatta island” – an Olympic Village type setting which will provide competitors the support and focus wh...
