Alligator Viewing In Myakka State Park

Looking for something fun to do with the family over the summer holiday? Check out Myakka State Park. It's just a half hour from Sarasota and is one of the oldest and largest state parks in Florida. Its 58 square miles is home to a diverse range of wildlife and scenic areas such as wetlands, prairies, hammocks, and pinelands.

Stroll Along The Boardwalk Or Through The Air In The Canopy Walkway

Visitors can enjoy wildlife from a boardwalk that stretches out over the Upper Myakka Lake. And the canopy walkway offers a magical view from high up above the parkland, where you can see miles of treetops and all the wildlife bustling around you. The park´s river and two lakes provide ample opportunities for boating, freshwater fishing, canoeing, and kayaking with a boat ramp that provides access to Upper Myakka Lake.

The Park Is Perfect For Day Trips Or Camping

Lake tours are offered daily on the world´s two largest airboats and you get the chance to catch a glimpse of alligators basking in the warm Florida sun! The park also offers camping and features three campgrounds with 90 campsites. Each site is equipped with 50 amp electrical service, water, a fire ring and picnic table.

More Than A Days Worth Of Fun

If you’re only looking for a day trip, it's truly a wonderful place to get some exercise, whether its hiking trails or canoeing on the river or to just relax with the family. Although you will need more than one day to fully enjoy this beautiful park, as there is so much to see and do!
